EMI Lou

I am a movement artist, educator, and creative catalyst working at the intersection of movement, creativity, and leadership.

My work explores how embodied practice can deepen our connection to creativity, purpose, and community. Through workshops, teaching, speaking, and collaborative projects, I design and lead experiences that invite people to reconnect with their bodies, expand their creative capacity, and engage more meaningfully with the communities they serve.

For over two decades, I have worked across artistic, academic, and community spaces β€” from dance studios and universities to conferences, festivals, and creative gatherings. My background includes MFA research in dance science and hip-hop dance culture, as well as years of experience supporting artists and organizations in developing sustainable creative practices.

At the core of my work is a belief that creativity is not separate from how we live, lead, and connect with others. Movement offers a powerful pathway to reflection, resilience, and transformation. When people reconnect with their bodies and creative instincts, new possibilities for leadership, collaboration, and impact begin to emerge.

Whether I am teaching in a classroom, facilitating a workshop, or partnering with organizations on new initiatives, my intention is to create spaces where people can move, reflect, and grow together.
